In addition to the highly-anticipated presidential race, voters will also vote for state and local races in the state and local elections for this upcoming election on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
Senator in Congress
Democratic candidate U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren is opposed by republican candidate John Deaton in the race for Senator in Congress. Warren is the incumbent, running for her third-consecutive term.
Representative in Congress
U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton is opposed in his run for his second-consecutive term as the Representative in Congress for the 6th district.
Council
Gloucester’s Eileen Duff has served in the 5th District’s seat on the Governor’s Council since 2012, but is running for Southern Essex Register of Deeds. Republican candidate Anne Manning-Martin of Peabody, Democratic candidate Eunice Delice Zeigler of Methuen, and Jody Elliot of Salem are running for Duff’s seat.
Democratic candidate and incumbent Terrence Kennedy is unopposed for his eighth-consecutive term on the Governor’s Council for the 6th District.
Senator in General Court
Republican incumbent, State Sen. Bruce Tarr, is unopposed for reelection for his sixth-consecutive term as the 1st Essex and Middlesex’s state senator.
Democratic incumbent, State Sen. Joan Lovely, is running opposed by republican candidate Damian Anketell for 2nd Essex’s state senator.
Democratic incumbent, State Sen. Brendan Crighton, is unopposed for reelection for his second-consecutive term as the 3rd Essex’s state senator.
Representative in General Court
Democratic incumbent, State Rep. Jenny Armini is unopposed for her reelection as the state representative for the 8th Essex District.
Republican incumbent, State Rep. Donald Wong is unopposed for his reelection as the state representative for the 9th Essex District.
Democratic incumbent, State Rep. Dan Cahill, is unopposed for his reelection as the state representative for the 10th Essex District.
After winning his primary election, Democratic candidate Sean Reid is unopposed for his first term as the state representative for the 11th Essex District.
Democratic incumbent, State Rep. Tom Walsh is unopposed for his reelection as the state representative for the 12th Essex District.
Democratic incumbent, State Rep. Sally Kearns is unopposed for her reelection as the state representative for the 12th Essex District.
Democratic incumbent, State Rep. Jessica Giannino is unopposed for her reelection as the state representative for the 16th Suffolk District.
Republican incumbent, State Rep. Bradley Jones is unopposed for his reelection as the state representative for the 20th Middlesex District.
Clerk of Courts
Essex County Clerk of Courts Democrat Tom Driscoll is opposed by independent candidates Todd Angilly and Doris Rodriguez.
Driscoll, the incumbent, is seeking his fifth-consecutive term in the position.
Register of Deeds
Democratic candidate Eileen Duff and republican candidate Jonathan Ring face off for the position of the Southern Essex Register of Deeds.
John O’Brien previously held the role and stepped down on Dec. 31, 2023, after first being elected to the position in 1976.
