LYNN — After 90 years of service to the Greater Lynn Community, the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home was recently honored by the Massachusetts Funeral Directors Association (MFDA) for a lifetime of service.
The funeral home was recognized by the association during its annual Funeral Service Appreciation Night, which was held on Oct. 2 in Needham, Mass.
Decades of service were provided to the community by the late Walter A. Cuffe, Sr., along with his son, the late Walter Jr., and his wife, Sally. The funeral home was originally established by Cuffe, Sr. on Johnson St. in Lynn back in 1934. Then, in 1976, the operation was merged with the McGinn Funeral Home, located at 157 Maple St.
President of the MFDA Maggie McNally was in attendance at the annual event and presented the 90-year award to Funeral Directors Deanna O’Donnel and John Kobuszewski on behalf of the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home.
The Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home was expanded in 1981 before being enlarged again in 1992, making it one of the largest, most complete facilities throughout the Massachusetts North Shore, according to the press release.
The funeral home is currently a member of the Dignity Memorial Family.
“We take great pride in continuing the Cuffe family legacy of caring for families in Lynn and the surrounding communities with unparalleled service,” the press release stated.
