SWAMPSCOTT — The Police Association is working double-time to spread holiday cheer this year as they gear up for the upcoming holiday parade on Dec. 14.
The association partnered, with Wicked Jeeps of New England – a group for community outreach and Jeep enthusiasts – to present a parade starting at Swampscott High School at 5:30 p.m. It will travel from Essex Street to Burrill Street, Burrill Street to Paradise Road, Paradise Road to Vinnin Square/Salem Street, Salem Sreet, to Humphrey Street, and ends at Town Hall.
During the event, the association will be collecting gifts for Toys for Local Children, a gift-giving program run by Swampscott educators that aims to support children within the community, according to the association’s Facebook page.
Residents are encouraged to come participate and donate toys this season for children of low-income families. The association requests all donated toys be unwrapped.
“We hope for a great turnout,” the association said in its Facebook post. “This parade usually has huge crowds lining the streets.”
