NAHANT — The Johnson School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) has officially started its annual Christmas tree sale.
The event, which started on Nov. 30, is taking place in Lowland Park. Kids and parents from Johnson Elementary School will be selling Christmas trees every evening until they run out.
“This has quickly become a popular and long-standing tradition that the students sell trees out of Lowland Park,” Johnson Elementary School Principal Kevin Andrews said. “Wherever you buy your tree from, it kind of becomes like its own tradition, right? That’s how we treat it.”
According to Andrews, the tree sale is a yearly crux of the holiday season and has been going on for decades.
“It’s not just a great event, but it’s also a really fun gathering. The tree sale is something that’s great and fun for the whole community,” he said.
“The town is thrilled to work with the PTO again this year on their efforts to raise funds that benefit the students of Nahant,” Town Administrator Tony Barletta said.
