NAHANT — The Village Church will be hosting a small flurry of concerts to spread some holiday cheer as Christmas lurks just around the corner.
The first concert will be hosted on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m., at the Village Church, located on 27 Cliff St. The second concert will be on Sunday, Dec. 15, at 3 p.m. at Nahant Community Center, although it will still be hosted by the church. Both events are free.
The concerts will feature appearances from both the Seaside Sirens and Nahant Children’s Choir. All attendees are also welcome to join in and sing their hearts out.
According to Ute Gfrerer, founder of the Seaside Sirens, the two concerts are distinguished by the types of songs and carols that will be sung throughout the events. The first concert, Gfrerer claims, will be centered more around Christmas carols, such as “O’ Come All Ye Faithful,” Joy to the World,” and “The First Noel.”
The second concert, she said, will feature less carols, and instead will be focused more on the two groups singing iconic Christmas songs from the holiday season, like “White Christmas,” “Silver Bells,” and of course, “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.”
“These are really fun events where the audience can come and sing along if they want,” Gfrerer said. “People can come, have refreshments, eat cookies and just enjoy themselves.”
