DANVERS — Christine Danjou, of Salem, has been appointed to the North Shore Community College (NSCC) Board of Trustees by Gov. Maura Healey.

A dedicated financial services professional with 35 years of experience in the banking industry, Danjou currently serves as a member of the Executive Management Team at Salem Five Bank, where she has spent the past five years developing strategies and managing major initiatives to drive organizational success while also overseeing business banking operations.

“I am truly honored to be joining the NSCC Board of Trustees. The College serves students in the heart of the community in which I have lived nearly all my life, and I feel as if my own educational journey was very like those being experienced by some of our NSCC students today,” said Danjou. “For these reasons, the College’s mission speaks to me personally, and I look forward to working with all members of the Board of Trustees to support that mission so that students are able to achieve their goals and leave the College prepared not just for today’s workforce, but for the workforce of the future.”

Danjour began her career as a secretary and steadily advanced to assume senior leadership roles through hard work and determination. During her 30-year career at Eastern Bank, she rose to Senior Vice President, leading a team of retail banking professionals in the areas of sales and service, product management, branch operations, compliance, budgeting, management reporting, and analytics.

A first-generation college graduate, she earned an associate degree as a full-time student at Marian Court Junior College, then a bachelor’s degree in Business as a part-time evening student at Endicott College, graduating magna cum laude. She also completed a three-year program at the Graduate School of Retail Bank Management in Greenville, SC.

Her commitment to excellence extends beyond her career; she has served on the boards of Marian Court College, Children’s Friend & Family Services, and The Salem Partnership, contributing to her community with the same passion that defines her professional achievements.

Raised in a low-income veterans’ housing complex in Salem, Danjou has never lost her connection to the city she calls home, where she resides with her husband. She is the proud mother of three adult children.
