BOSTON — Lynn community members, including members of Lynn United for Change, went to Boston on Friday to participate in the “Not One More” march against deportation and criminalization policies.
The march began at the JFK Federal Building and progressed toward the State House. It was organized by the Asian American Resource Workshop, Homes for All Massachusetts, Families for Justice as Healing, Boston Immigration Justice Accompaniment Network, and Unitarian Universalist (UU) Mass Action.
The goal of the event was to “unify our movement, mobilize our communities, and demand protection for refugees and immigrants at all levels of government,” according to the UU Mass Action website.
The rally was also a “direct call to Governor [Maura] Healey and President [Joe] Biden” to take immediate action to protect immigrant communities, in advance of President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration, according to the event Facebook page.
The march had more than 50 sponsors, including local organizations such as Lynn United for Change and Essex County Community Organization.
