LYNN — The city held a ribbon cutting ceremony to recognize the newly renovated Kiley Park on Friday.
The park is located on 66 Sanderson Ave. and includes playground equipment compliant with the American Disabilities Act. The project was funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
Mayor Jared C. Nicholson cut the ribbon to signify the reopening of the park. “We are thrilled to complete this significant upgrade at Kiley Park,” he said. “One of the areas we have effectively utilized ARPA funding is the renovation of parks and playgrounds throughout the city, improving both recreational opportunities and accessibility, and this is the latest example. We look forward to families enjoying this new version of one of our signature parks.”
Ward 3 Councilor Coco Alinsug, who was also at the ceremony, said one of the complaints he heard from residents when he was first elected in 2021 was to help renovate Kiley Park.
“Thanks to ARPA, I assembled active residents and fellow Ward 3 folks, and we created the Kiley Park Task Force whose job is to give input and suggestions to the designers. My hats off to all the members of the Task Force, headed by Precinct Captain Lisa Prak who worked so hard to organize and coordinate the process. This is an exciting moment in Ward 3 and to our beloved Kiley Park,” Alinsug said.
