Classical had two players earn double-doubles. Shyeim Babb scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, while teammate Rolky Brea Arias finished with 14 points and 10 boards.

Marblehead 54
Danvers 47
The Magicians dug themselves into a hole to start the game, as the Falcons led, 18-6, after the first quarter. However, after a few adjustments, Marblehead held Danvers to just four points in the second quarter to tie the game, 22-22, at halftime.
In the second half, Marblehead, once again, found itself trailing going into the fourth quarter, but the Magicians heated up. Senior captain Sam Thompson led the way, scoring 21 points (17 in the second half). Finn Gallup “sparked” the defense, according to head coach Mike Giardi, and finished with eight points.
Salem 78
Saugus 48
It wasn’t the ideal start for the Sachems, who were beaten on the road. Huey Josama led the way for Saugus with 12 points. Teammate Jordan Rodriguez (11) was right behind him, while Ryan Dupuy scored eight and Ryan Shea chipped in with seven.
Beverly 77
Peabody 41
A slow start was detrimental to the Tanners, who welcomed Beverly on opening night. Peabody managed to score just five points in the second quarter, giving the Panthers a 46-16 cushion at the break.
The Tanners fought back in the second half, but were too far behind in this one. Beverly’s Jacob Klass finished with a game-high 32 points, while Peabody’s leading scorer was Jariel Tolentino with 10 points. Miguel Maria added nine.

The Big Blue started a new campaign with a convincing win over Northeastern Conference foe Gloucester. Led by Connor Chiarello’s 24 points and Teddy O’Neill’s 23, Swampscott found control early and didn’t give the Fishermen any comeback hopes.
Swampscott’s Chase Groothuis and Gabe Tripp both chipped in with nine points. Adam Sparacio, Tripp, and Groothuis controlled the glass, which played a key factor in the win.
