LYNN — Lynn Community Television (LCTV) was recognized at the 16th annual Nor’Easter Awards in three categories for exceptional video productions last Monday.

The ceremony was hosted by the Alliance for Community Media’s Northeast region and held in Mystic, Connecticut.

At the ceremony, LCTV placed third in the Arts & Theatre category for its ‘Fabrics of the Community’ project, which highlighted how the electrical boxes around the city had been transformed into colorful public art with help from the Lynn Public Art Commission.

In the News and Magazine Format category, LCTV earned second place for ‘LCTV News,’ a weekly newscast that goes over local happenings.

Finally, in the Community Impact category, LCTV earned first place for ‘Little Free Libraries in Lynn,’ which featured a community initiative led by the Reading and Educational Assistance for Learning (REAL) Program to promote literacy and book access throughout Lynn.

“I am incredibly grateful to the ACM for recognizing our work but most importantly for my colleagues who work every day to ensure that LCTV proudly represents the diverse community we call home,” LCTV News Director Dani Vittori, one of the producers of the projects, said in a press release from LCTV.

Director of Operations Riley, another one of the producers of the project, said “I love highlighting the best parts of this city, and being able to share that with the community through the projects I work on. The whole team here at LCTV have been doing this sort of work for years, arguably better than anyone else, and having our work recognized at a regional level by our peers was a great feeling.”

LCTV Executive Director Seth Albaum also extended “a huge thank you to the REAL Program and the Lynn Public Arts Commission for [their collaboration].” Albaum also expressed gratitude towards the Lynn community, LCTV supporters, and the LCTV staff.

“Our staff do a lot more than the sacred duty of covering municipal boards and committees, they help tell the stories of Lynn,” he said.
