NAHANT — During a Library Trustees meeting Tuesday evening, Director Nori Morganstein revealed the library recently hired Raegan Herlihy as its new children’s librarian.
“Today was officially her first day, and I think she’s gonna be really great,” Morganstein said. “She’s picking everything up very quickly. She’s quick and young, just really great.”
Herlihy attended Gordon College, where she graduated in 2020 as an undergrad with a degree in Communication Arts. She also went on to attend Salem State University, where she continued her education.
Herlihy mentioned how, even though it’s her first time stepping into the position of a children’s librarian, she has a hopeful trajectory of the role her job will play when it comes to inspiring children to read more.
“What’d I’d love to do is really just sit down with the kids and start introducing them to new books,” Herlihy said. “I really want to be there for them, help them learn about more books, and just be a network of support for them.”
