Santa comes early to Brooksby staff

December 18, 2024 by Luke Acton

PEABODY — Brooksby Village recently distributed more than $274,192 to eligible hourly staff members through its 2024 Staff Appreciation Fund, the largest ever pool the senior living community has gathered.

Community members gathered for a festive Staff Appreciation Fund event where the gifts, all raised by residents at Brooksby Village, were dispersed to the dedicated staff.

“The incredible generosity of residents who support the Staff Appreciation Fund matches the wonderful spirit of the season,” Philanthropy Manager Hope Moore said. “In turn, our team members have earned this recognition for their caring attitudes, creativity, and diligence.  Together, they make Brooksby Village an amazing place to live and work.”

Employees ranging from dining associates, security officers, maintenance workers, and housekeepers were all included in the celebration of their dedication to making Brooksby Village a safe and comfortable place for seniors to live.

Home to more than 1,800 residents, the community also fundraised for student-worker scholarships this year, raising $224,000 for the many waiters, waitresses, and hostesses in Brooksby Village who are also looking for a higher education. Awards were distributed this June in the form of $12,000 four-year scholarships.

With the Staff Appreciation Fund, residents are given the opportunity to materially demonstrate their appreciation for what the personnel at Brooksby brings to their lives, a big-hearted gesture that feels perfectly suited for this charitable time of year.
