To the editor:

The Peabody Council on Aging held its annual Christmas party at the Peter A. Torigian Senior Center on Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2024.There were more than 200 people in attendance at the “Holiday Party.” Dignitaries from the City of Peabody who came were Mayor Edward A. Bettencourt Jr. and his children, the Mayor’s staff, Chief of Police Thomas Griffin, Fire Chief John Dowling, State Rep. Thomas Walsh, and students from Peabody High School who served the dinner and cleaned up after it.

Entertainment and music was provided by Alan LaBella. The meal consisted of stuffed chicken breast, red bliss mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans almondine, apple cider, raisin bread, and butter. Dessert was coffee and tiramisu. Truly totally delicious. Everyone was totally happy and the camaraderie was so totally friendly and good spirited. Special thanks to the Peabody High School students who volunteered to serve the scrumptious meal and clean up afterward, and to Director of the Peter A. Torigian Senior Center Carolyn Wynn, and Activities Director Laurie Nadeau, who organized the “Holiday Party”,

Volunteer Director Kat DeLomba and her cadre of volunteers who work tirelessly every day providing sustenance and good cheer to all of the senior citizens who attend the Peabody Senior Center every day. Thank God for such wonderful people, the staff and volunteers at the Peabody Council on Aging.

Thank you.

Philip J. Celeste
