The Marblehead boys hockey team moved to 4-0 after a 3-2 victory over Danvers at Endicott’s Raymond J. Bourque Arena.
The Headers took an early lead at 7:27 of the first period when Avin Rodovsky found the back of the net with Max King picking up the assist.
Then later in the period on the power play, captain Kyle Hart doubled the Headers lead. Noah Feingold and Sean Dolan were credited with the assists.
Danvers found a goal in the second period through Evan Petroccione to cut the lead to one.
Then early in the third period, Danvers knotted the game at two after Cooper Dunham scored a rebounded shot.
Both teams went into overtime and it was over within 45 seconds as London McDonald broke free and fired it past the Falcons goalie for the win.
Marblehead’s Leo Burdge finished the game with 22 saves.

Winchester 3
The Spartans stay undefeated (4-0) with a 4-3 win against Winchester in a tight battle between two talented teams.
Colton Carpenter, Joey Calder, Maddox Jacobsen, and Drew Waters were the goalscorers for the Spartans. Waters registered his first career varsity goal for St. Mary’s in the win.
Carpenter, Finn Racki (2), Kalen Huddle, Caleb Racki, Michael Nerich, and JJ Avery all recorded an assist to extend St. Mary’s winning streak to four.

Bishop Fenwick 0
The Crusaders dropped a one-goal game against Bedford. Bishop Fenwick couldn’t find an opening past the tough Bedford defense.

The Wolfpack picked up their first win of the season with a 3-2 win over the Spartans (1-2-1). Ava Enright scored two goals while Phoebe Niese scored one for Boston Latin.
Keira Twomey and Alyssa Norden both scored for St. Mary’s but it wasn’t enough to pull out the road win.

Saugus 81
Minuteman 61
The Sachems (1-3) picked up its first win of the season with a 20-point victory over Minuteman. According to head coach Joe Bertrand, it was a “great team effort.”
Jordan Rodriguez (20 points) and Ryan Shea (20) combined for 40 of Saugus’ 81. Huey Josama poured in 16 points, with teammates Ryan Dupuy (10) and Nathan Soroko (9) making plays to get the win.

It was an early Christmas gift for the Spartans as they took care of Arlington Catholic by 45 points on the Jeff Newhall court.
Leading the way for St. Mary’s (3-1) was Bella Owumi who poured in 20 points. Charleigh Green netted 10, while Reese Matela and Juliana Conte finished with nine points each.

Bishop Fenwick 19
St. Mary’s boys track and field team moved to 2-0 on the season with an impressive win over Bishop Fenwick. The win marked No. 100 for head coach Tristan Smith.
“I appreciate this milestone, but it really belongs to the athletes who put in the work every day to make this possible. If anything, it’s a testament to all of the great kids I’ve gotten to coach over the years,” Smith said.
Rubell Cornelio (55 meters), Jimmy Jennings (300), Kevin Cahill (600), Michael Sherman (high jump), and Brandon Cruz (shot put) all took home the win in their respective events.
The girl’s team had a bye week, but they still performed. Kelsey Kwiatek ran a personal best 11:51 in the 2-mile, Cam Dunn ran a 46.9 in the 300, and Jazmin Rodriguez jumped 4’6” in the high jump.
The Spartans are back in action this weekend with certain qualifying individuals competing at the MSTCA Boston Holiday Challenge.
