SWAMPSCOTT — The Public Relations Society of America’s (PSRA) Boston Chapter presented resident Adam Ritchie with the Diane Davis Beacon Award, which recognizes the highest qualities of leadership, service, and professional achievement.
The award is the most prestigious tribute that a person can receive from the PSRA. It was conferred to Richie during the chapter’s annual meeting.
Ritchie is the principal of the Adam Richie Band Direction, an independent brand community agency that he founded in 2007. His agency provides PR to clients around the world, including Jacuzzi, Goodbaby International, and American Ninja Warrior Adventure Parks.
Ritchie is also an advocate for public relations, helping it evolve from “an organization’s mouthpiece to its future as an organization’s creative engine”, according to the press release. Ritche’s book, “Inventions in PR”, highlights important campaigns where rather than simply helping promote the client’s product or service, they helped create it entirely.
As an advocate, Richie has spoken at more than 50 universities. He also spoke at the IABC World Conference, the PSRA International Conference, and the Museum of Public Relations.
“Public Relations has existed for more than 75 years, yet Adam comes up with exciting new approaches to what we do every day,” PRSA Boston President Kelly McFalls said. “Adam is a public relations pioneer who shares his knowledge with our community and commits to his clients wholeheartedly with precise execution.”
