LYNN – Super Seven Subs & Pizza officially closed Sunday after 54 years of operation.
The establishment was located on 889 Western Ave, and closed due to retirement from the crew.
Hundreds of community members expressed support and love for the establishment online, including Anna Lally, a lifelong Lynn resident and administrator of the Lynn Eats Facebook group. Lally had been a patron for almost 50 years.
“It wasn’t only the great subs, pizzas and salads,” Lally said. “It was the crew … [they] always addressed me by name, knew where I was working, asked how I was doing.”
On Saturday, the establishment was also given a citation from City Hall, which congratulated the shop’s staff on their retirement and thanked the staff members for all their contributions to the community. City Council President Jay Walsh and Ward 6 Councilor Fred Hogan were there to present the citation in person.
