Despite a 20-point performance from Winthrop’s Bailey Ferguson, Lynnfield’s girls basketball team took down the Vikings, 41-36, in Saturday’s consolation game of the David Green Memorial Basketball Tournament. The Pioneers (1-4, 0-2 Cape Ann League) picked up their first win.

Lynnfield led by single digits after each of the first two quarters, but extended its lead to 15 points heading into the fourth. Winthrop ran out of time and had to settle for the five-point loss.
“Things got a little interesting, but we managed to hold on,” Breen said.
