NAHANT — The Nahant Public Library has been busy developing some interesting new programs to rally readers and residents together for a number of fun, captivating events.
Starting Thursday, the library will officially kick-start its “Mystery Book Club” at 5 p.m., where readers will get the chance to discuss “None of This Is True”, by Lisa Jewell. The book is a thriller that tells the story of a popular podcaster who meets a woman with a shady history that wants her story told, according to the book’s synopsis. The program will run on the second Thursday of each month.
The next program the library has lined up focuses on residents honing their creative abilities. Starting on Friday, Jan. 17 at 1 p.m., the library will host a “Crafting Circle”, where community members are encouraged to come and create something completely unique. The program runs on the third Friday of each month after its initial start date.
The library also developed an interactive program to help teach residents about the complex, scientific nature of forensic psychology. “Encounters with Killers” is a program featuring Katherine Ramsland, forensic psychologist and true-crime author.
During the event, Ramsland will cover extensively her most memorable interactions with serial killers throughout the course of her life, and the impact they had on her career as a forensic psychologist. The event will run Monday, Jan. 27 at 7 p.m.
