LYNN — Residents of Lynn looking to flex some of their creative muscles were encouraged to rally at the “DENCITY Open Mic” night Sunday evening.
The event, which was held at The Studios at Lynn Museum and Arts Center from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m., was a chance for artists and creative thinkers to come together in order to create a space that fosters growth and opportunity, according to the press release.
During the event, each artist that attends will get five minutes or one piece (in the form of a poem, story or song). Artists will be required to sign in and place their name in the “Lighthouse”, a mechanism which spontaneously draws random names.
The event was advertised as an 18+ event with free admission to the public.
“We prioritize creating a safe, supportive space where everyone is encouraged to express themselves freely,” the press release said. The venue is accessible, ensuring that everyone throughout the community can comfortably participate.
