NAHANT — The Housing Authority gathered Monday evening to discuss updates on their CPC application to have work done on a series of state-funded public houses on Spring Road.
The units the board is looking to repair are a series of duplexes, ranging from 43-45, 47-49, and 51-53 Spring Road, According to Executive Director Kelley Collins, the board is seeking to repair roofing on the units.
According to Collins, the board recently received their second quote from a construction company, JP Carroll Roofing (a company based in Danvers), for a total amount on how much the project would cost. Collins said the quote came back at $9,184.06.
Collins noted it was an increase from the first bid they initially received from a different company, which ended up being $6,500 according to Collins. She noted the CPC’s deadline for the application is Jan. 27.
“All of the roofs were the same age,” Collins said. “So, they all began deteriorating at the same rate.”
She added the that the board will be asking for $40,000 from the town to properly fund the project.
