LYNN — The School Committee welcomed two new additions to Pickering Middle School during their meeting Thursday evening. Renee Philbrook joins Pickering as interim principal. Nicholas Chareas fills the role as interim vice principal.
“We’re so excited that you’re the new Interim principal and vice principal,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Evonne Alvarez said. “Congratulations to you both.”
Philbrook, who has extensive history working with Lynn public school students as district math coach and program specialist, has most recently served as an assistant principal at Lynn Vocational Technical Institute.
Chareas, another dedicated educator, has worked as assistant principal at Breed Middle School.
Pickering Middle School is located on 70 Conomo Ave., serves grades 6-8, and is home to 583 students, according to the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education.
