The Lynn English boys basketball team picked up a Greater Boston League conference win on the road against Chelsea 67-61.
After a defeat to rival Lynn Classical last time out, head coach Alvin Abreu said he wants his team to “shake off the loss” and look ahead.
The Bulldogs were led by Andrew Karoma who scored a team-high 23 points. Denzell Guillen did a bit of everything and had a near triple-double with 12 points, 10 rebounds, nine steals, and six assists.
Marvin Perkins (16 points) and Louis Ledesma (11) contributed with double-digit points in the win. Lynn English got big minutes from freshman guard Darby St Cyr.

The Panthers fall to 6-4 on the season after a narrow defeat to Greater Lawrence (8-2). Trosky Peña led the way for KIPP scoring 16 points.
KIPP got out to a slow start in the first quarter only scoring three points and couldn’t make up the ground.

The winning streak continues for the Rams making it six games in a row without tasting defeat. Lynn Classical (9-3) got 23 points from Deshawn Rucke and 21 points from Shyheim Babb.
Rolky Brea Arias scored 12 points and was active on the glass grabbing eight rebounds.
The Rams will look to extend their winning streak to seven on Tuesday when they welcome Malden to Lynn at 7 p.m.

The Lady Rams led, 26-13, at halftime, but turned it up in the second half en route to a home win. Leading the way were junior Evelyn Diaz (11 points), freshman Aliyah Alvarado (8), and junior Eri’Chelle Lluveres (6).
“There was a little more defensive intensity in the second half and we held them to single digits. We were able to create some points off turnovers,” said Classical coach Tom Sawyer, whose Lady Rams upped their record to 8-2. “We were able to get 13 kids into the game and everybody played well.”

Lynnfield got the job done at home. Zach Inafuku, Nate Barstow, Jakob Hulett, Jason Kouyoumdjian, David Glynn, Cam Arya, James Fodera, Zack Morse, and Dylan Mathews were all victorious on the night.
Lynnfield moves to 17-1-1 on the season.
Saugus-Peabody 36

The Saugus-Peabody continued its perfect season with a narrow victory over the Fishermen in Gloucester. Saugus-Peabody moves to 10-0 on the season.
SWIMMING AND DIVING

The Crusaders went into enemy territory and swam away with the win. As a team, Bishop Fenwick had eight first-place finishes.
In the 200 medley relay and 400 freestyle relay the team of junior captain Caroline Blatchford, senior captain Hannah Ryan, sophomore Amelia Gallant, and senior Courtney McKenzie took home first.
Blatchford also took home first in the 200 freestyle (2:07.47) and the 100 backstroke (1:08.63). Gallant finished the 100 butterfly (1:05.93) and 500 freestyle (5:44.50) in first place.
East Boston 47
St. Mary’s 44
The Spartans were narrowly defeated by East Boston on Thursday afternoon. Isabelle Amodeo and Gabby Merchant finished first and second respectively in the 200 freestyle. Gaby Martins took home two first-place finishes in the 100 breaststroke and the 50 freestyle. Isabella Morillo qualified for sectionals and states after finishing first place in the 500 freestyle.

Lynn Classical-Lynn English 79
Lynn lost a close matchup on the road against Malden. Lynn had two 1-2 finishes, the first was in the 100 breaststroke with Kaydee Rouse finishing first and Jason Silva in second. The second was in the 100 breaststroke where Amanda Hughes finished first followed by teammate Madisen McHale.
Lynn also did well in the relays where Jackson Gatlin, David Gamero, Kaydee Rouse, and Solomon Srey placed first in the 400 freestyle.
