LYNN — The Lynn Museum and Arts Center is preparing to educate community members about the world of the paranormal.
The event kicks off Wednesday, Jan. 22 at 5 p.m. at 590 Washington St. Museum Collections Manager Christopher Locke will partner with George Schwartz, the curator-at-large at the Peabody Essex Museum, for a “dynamic and engaging conversation about Lynn’s role in the Spiritualist movement,” according to a post on the museum’s Facebook page.
Community members are encouraged to come and participate in the free event which is open to everyone.
Those who attend will get the chance to learn more about the lore of Dungeon Rock (a 2,200-acre reservation that’s supposedly haunted) as well as experience the spiritual essence of High Rock Tower. Following the event, attendees are encouraged to visit the High Rock Observatory, which will be open from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Interested parties are encouraged to use “Circuit Ave” as their GPS destination, the Facebook post said. Parking for High Rock Tower is located along Circuit Ave and the adjoining roundabout. Attendees can walk or drive to High Rock Tower from the museum but should keep in mind the walk takes around 10-15 minutes and includes many stairs.
High Rock Tower has no bathroom or water facilities and is open to the elements. Attendees are advised to plan their visits accordingly and dress warmly.
