NAHANT — During the Board of Selectmen meeting Wednesday evening, the board continued its discussion about the process of selling a number of lots from the Coast Guard Housing Authority.
According to Town Administrator Tony Barletta, the upcoming bidding dates for the lots the town is looking to purchase will cover three weeks in a row. Bids will kick off Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 3:30 p.m. (at Town Hall), and will continue on Thursday, Feb. 20. Following that, the other bid dates for the remaining lots will be March 4 and 6, Barletta said.
“We’re going in order of lot number 10 on that first Tuesday, with lot number eight being set for bids on that next Thursday,” Barletta said. “The following week, it will be lot six and four, and following that it will be lots two and five.” He noted lot number five will be included due to it not being sold previously.
The prices of the remaining lots are online and can be found on the town’s website, Barletta said. He then read the minimum prices for each lot. The minimum price for lot ten is $550,000, lot eight is $535,000, lot six is $425,000, lot four is $475,000, lot two is $520,000, and lot five is $425,000.
“We took a lot of time discussing those price points, and we looked at the characteristics of each lot,” he said. “What’s the size of the lot, what’s the shape of the lot? There were a lot of different elements that went into determining those.”
