The St. Mary’s girls hockey team was back at Connery on Monday evening in non-league action. The Spartans (7-9-1) faced Westford Academy and earned a 4-0 shutout win.
Katy Sarazen led the Spartans with a brace, while Alyssa Norden and Addie Markiewicz both scored a goal to lead St. Mary’s to its seventh win of the season.
Avery Sico had a game to remember as she didn’t let one shot get past her, registering another shutout.

Despite two goals from AJ Lopez and 34 saves from Nick Denino, the Jets couldn’t skate past Somerville.

Ipswich 43
Lynnfield cruised to its 11th win of the season after a 28-point win over Ipswich.
The Pioneers got double-doubles from Alex Fleming (19 points, 10 rebounds) and Madux Iovinelli (14 points, 10 rebounds). Zach Pincus chipped in with 11 points.
Kelan Cardinal kept the offense moving providing 10 assists.
Bishop Fenwick 59
Peabody 45
In a battle between in-city rivals, it was the Crusaders who protected home court and defeated the Tanners by 14.
Bishop Fenwick led 27-23 at the half. Peabody cut the deficit to two points (39-37) going into the fourth quarter.
The Crusaders went on an 8-0 run to take a 47-37 lead to take control of the game.
Damon Mataragas led the Crusaders with 16, while Peabody’s Thad Broughton Jr. scored a game-high 20 points.
Marblehead 70
Malden 50
The Magicians (6-7) picked up a road win over a talented Malden team. Marblehead led 32-26 at halftime but pulled away in the second half for a comfortable win.
“Although it looks like a big win, the Golden Tornados just couldn’t get some shots to fall and Marblehead was able to take advantage,” Marblehead coach Mike Giardi said.
Sophomore guard Finn Baron led the Magicians with 22 points. Senior captain Matt Sherf added 13 points and senior Cody Bouchard chipped in with 10.
