LYNN — A 78-year-old woman was struck and killed Friday morning on North Common Street. The woman was pushing a shopping cart and collecting bottles when she was hit by a 2014 Dodge flatbed truck.
Lynn Police Department and Massachusetts State Police (MSP), as well as the medical examiner, were on the scene.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, MSP, Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, MSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section, and Lynn Police are all investigating the incident, according to the Essex County District Attorney’s Office.
The body was removed from the scene shortly after 8:50 a.m., and the street is currently closed.
