Lynn Tech’s boys basketball team, helmed by coach Corey Bingham, upped its winning streak to six games with a 75-51 home win against Greater Lowell Tech Friday night. Giovanni Jean, a dominant guard in the Commonwealth Athletic Conference and beyond, scored 19 points and dished out eight assists. Brandon Antwine (14 points, 4 steals), Andy Batista (12 points, 8 assists), and Ulises Diaz (10 points, 11 rebounds) also contributed for the Tigers, who upped their record to 8-7 after a 2-7 start.

The Spartans (18-0) captured the Catholic Central League crown with a road win in Attleborough Friday night. JJ Martinez (23 points) and Jake Fortier (20) led the way for St. Mary’s, which finishes unbeaten in league play.

Peabody coach Thad Broughton called it “our most complete offensive game of the season” as his Tanners (9-10) took down the Falcons. Leading the charge were Jariel Tolentino (27 points, 4 rebounds, 4 steals), Jimmy Festa (15 points, 11 rebounds), Aneudy Medrano (11 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists), Thad Broughton Jr. (10 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists), and Mark Mendonca (6 points, 3 rebounds).
“We got contributions from everyone,” Broughton said.

The Big Blue fell to 9-7 after Friday night’s game in Salem. Connor Chiarello scored 14 points, bringing him to within nine of the 1,000-point mark. Teddy O’Neill led Swampscott with 19 points, while Chase Groothuis added 13. Swampscott returns to action Tuesday for a home game against Danvers.

The Big Blue had their way with the Witches, dominating the action from beginning to end. Anna Kanders led Swampscott with 24 points and seven assists, while Sam Ward added 13 points alongside four assists and Olivia Quagrello netted nine points.
“Great all-around team effort,” said Swampscott coach Katelyn Leonard, whose team upped its record to 9-6 before Monday night’s game against Whittier.

It was a good night for Nevaeh Eth, Keisha Perez, and Savannah Tang, who celebrated Senior Night in Classical’s win against Everett. The Lady Rams (13-5) led, 27-15, at halftime before closing the deal in the second half. Divine Egbuta led all scorers with 18 points, while Perez netted 17.
“All tremendous student-athletes,” Sawyer said of his seniors.
