February 9, 2025 by Joey Barrett

Saturday’s boys hockey showdown between Marblehead and Danvers came with five goal celebrations, but none from the Falcons in a 5-0 Marblehead win.

The defending champion Headers, ranked No. 5 in the Division 3 power rankings, dominated the action with London McDonald (2 goals) and Avin Rodovsky (goal, 2 assists) leading the way.

Kyle Hart was the Headers’ top playmaker, dishing out three assists while netminder Leo Burdge played well between the pipes to secure another shutout.

Coach Mark Marfione and the Headers return to action Monday for a 7 p.m. game inside of Gloucester’s Talbot Rink.

BOYS HOCKEY

Catholic Memorial 3
St. John’s Prep 0

The Prep made its way to Tate Rink in West Point, New York for a matchup with traditional archrival Catholic Memorial, which escaped with a shutout win after a late empty-netter. Catholic Memorial scored twice in the second period to put pressure on the Eagles.

Lynnfield 2
Amesbury 1

Enemy ice was no problem for Lynnfield, which escaped Amesbury after Owen Considine’s two-goal performance. He tucked the game’s first goal, then went home with the game-winning strike in the third period.

BC High 4
St. Mary’s 0

BC High’s Drew Karlovits (19 saves) secured another shutout as the No. 8 Eagles took down No. 11 St. Mary’s at Connery Rink on Saturday.

Boston Latin 7

The Jets couldn’t find the back of the net in enemy territory, falling to a strong Boston Latin team on Saturday.

The Bishop Fenwick girls took part in Saturday’s North Sectionals at MIT, placing eighth out of 23 teams.
