LYNN — Malachi Wright-Godfrey, 18, of Lynn, was arraigned Tuesday in Superior Court in Salem following his arrest for bringing a loaded weapon to Lynn Classical High School in December of last year, Essex County District Attorney Paul F. Tucker announced today.
Wright-Godfrey is charged with felony counts of carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, and possession of a large-capacity feeding device, as well as misdemeanor counts of possession of ammunition without a firearms ID card, assault and battery on a public employee, and carrying a dangerous weapon on school grounds.
The Lynn Police Department arrested Wright-Godfrey on Friday, Dec. 20, 2024. He was indicted by an Essex County grand jury on Jan. 16.
At the arraignment in Superior Court before the Hon. Salim Tabit, Wright-Godfrey pled not guilty to all charges and was held without bail pending a final hearing on dangerousness.
Assistant District Attorney Margaret Morrissey represented the Commonwealth at the arraignment, while the defendant was represented by Atty. Whitney Beatty. The defendant is scheduled to return to court for a hearing on Tuesday, March 4.
