Lynn Tech’s Engelyz Bingham celebrated Senior Night in style, scoring 22 points and grabbing seven rebounds to lead the girls basketball team (12-6) past Northeast Metro in a 47-24 final. It was a memorable senior season for Bingham, who netted her 1,000th career point in January to join her father, Corey, in the school’s 1,000-point club.
Also contributing were do-it-all Allison Morales (8 points, 6 steals, 5 blocks, 4 rebounds, 2 assists), Jaylianniez Beauchamp (7 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals), Niya Bingham (4 points, 12 rebounds), and Mahlyna Williams (4 points, 6 rebounds).
As of Tuesday morning’s Division 4 power rankings, tournament-bound Tech checked in at No. 44.

Lynn Classical (13-6) ran into trouble and fell on home hardwood, despite an 11-point performance from Divine Egbuta.
“The season as a whole, I feel, has been a fun season,” said Classical coach Tom Sawyer, whose Lady Rams are ranked No. 41 in the Division 3 power rankings. “I hope the kids had a good experience during the regular season and I look forward to preparing for our first state tournament game.”

Essex Tech, celebrating Senior Night, was a handful for the Lady Bulldogs (10-8). Thais Dos Santos, Janelle Dalton, and Nicole Mwaura led the way offensively for the Hawks, while English, ranked No. 51 in Division 1, was led by Amara Flores (10 points), Saniya Patton (6 points), and Alisha Soto (9 rebounds, 4 steals).

The Magicians ended conference play with a 19-point win over Gloucester. Leading the way were Tessa Andriano and Hailey Schmitt, who scored eight points apiece.

Lynn Tech came close, but suffered a single-digit defeat on the road. Giovanni Jean led the Tigers (9-8) with 19 points and four assists. The loss ended Tech’s seven-game winning streak.

The Tanners (10-10) took care of their Northeastern Conference foe as Jariel Tolentino put on a show with 25 points, three rebounds, and three assists. Thad Broughton joined the fun with 17 points, while Jimmy Festa snatched 17 rebounds. As for the Sachems, Cam Victor led the charge with 12 points.
