To the editor:
Last year was the hottest year on record. “Drill baby drill” was also a hot topic on the platter of our leading political party.
U.S. credit card rates have doubled in our fabulous 21st Century, from roughly 12% to 24%.
Education agencies are reporting 29% school absenteeism nationally and 44% in poverty areas.
Looks like operating by the seat of our pants without a written constitution and with either a Democrat or a Republican king instead of a president is not producing such good results.
Our new way of doing things is creating a two-class system of government consisting of haves and have-nots, an aristocracy, and commoners. The wealthy have money, education, and special privileges and immunities in law. Everybody else has little money, little education, and little protection in law.
Folks, that’s a medieval system of government known as monarchy. Is that really what we want?
