The Bishop Fenwick girls basketball team advanced to the Norwell Basketball Invitational after a 53-41 win over Hanover.
Junior captain Caitlin Boyle had a game to remember scoring 29 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in the win.
Fellow junior, Celia Neilson, did a little bit of everything scoring nine points, dishing out nine assists, and registering five steals. Senior Caroline Perry added seven points and played “great defense” according to head coach Adam DeBaggis.
The Crusaders move to 9-10 on the season and will play Norwell in the championship game on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

Tournament MVP Ava Allen hit a 3-pointer with 40 seconds left to give the Chieftains (18-2) the lead and drained two clutch free throws with 4.4 seconds left to ice it as Masconomet won the Larry McIntire IAABO Board 130 Classic at Marblehead High School. Samia Lalikos scored 13 points, giving her 31 in two days. The Tanners (9-11) were led by Elizabeth Bettencourt (14 points) and Allyson Bettencourt (13).

In a tight battle between two strong teams, it was Saugus who got the better of Chelmsford. Peyton DiBiasio led the way with 25 points for the Sachems while Taylor Deleidi added nine including a clutch three late in the fourth quarter.
BOYS BASKETBALL
St. Mary’s 47
Dartmouth 37
The Spartans will be back in the Spartan Classic title game on Tuesday after taking care of Dartmouth at home. JJ Martinez erupted for 27 points while Rowan Merryman added nine.
St. Mary’s will face Lynn Tech in the championship game on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. The Spartans and Tigers met earlier this season in the Walter J. Boverini title game where St. Mary’s won 61-53.
Lynn Classical 61
Melrose 49
The Rams took on Melrose and went home with a double-digit win. Kam Rucker led Lynn Classical with 16 points and five assists.
Lynn Classical led 42-39 going into halftime and then in the third quarter the Rams went on a 9-2 run capped off by a Deshawn Rucker three to give the Rams a 51-41 lead.
Shyheim Babb scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds while teammate, Rolky Brea-Arias, added 14 points and nine rebounds. The Rams were all over the glass and Davonte Taggert pulled down 11 rebounds in the win.
Marblehead 68
Bishop Fenwick 32
Finn Baron (16) and Matthew Sherf (14) combined for 30 points to lead the host Magicians (11-8) in the consolation game of the Larry McIntire IAABO Board 130 Classic. Baron was named to the All-Tournament Team, as was Bishop Fenwick’s Nate Allder, who had 13 points.

The Sachmes advanced to the championship game in the Patton Tournament. Saugus will play either Revere or Hamilton-Wenham on Tuesday at 5:45 p.m.
Ryan Shea led Saugus with 15 points while Danny Zeitz and Ryan Dupuy each netted 12 to help Saugus advance.
Swampscott 52
New Mission 40
The Big Blue won their endowment game on Monday night over New Mission. Connor Chiarello led Swampscott with 18 points.
It was a balanced scoring game for Swampscott as Chase Groothuis added 12 points, and Tyler Sanders poured in nine in the win.
Swampscott will host traditional rival Marblehead on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
BOYS HOCKEY
Blue Hills Reg. 7
Lynn 0
It was a tough game for the Jets who couldn’t get the offense going against a talented Blue Hills team.
The Jets are now 6-12-2 on the season.
St. John’s Prep 7
Andover 0
Despite a four hour delay, the Eagles came out on top with a dominating win. St. John’s Prep led 2-0 after the first period and then added three more in the second to take a commanding 5-0 lead into the final period.
Chase Brown scored his first career goal in the third period to help guide the Eagles.
Freshman goalie Jesse Bernardelli saved 17 shots to earn the shutout.
GIRLS HOCKEY
Duxbury 2
St. Mary’s 1
The Dragons got on the board early scoring the opening goal just two and a half minutes into the first period. Maeve Murphy crashed the net and bruised the rebound to give Duxbury a 1-0 lead.
St. Mary’s equalized midway through the first when Emma Doucette found the back of the net from the left circle with seven minutes left in the opening period.
The game remained scoreless until the final 24 seconds of the final period when Zoey Madigan fired the game-winner to down the Spartans.
Track and field
The Lynnfield girls track and field team participated in the Division 5 state meet at Reggie Lewis on Monday.
Although the Pioneers didn’t take home any points, there were a few performances to highlight.
Abby Lopez saved her best run for when it counted the most in the two-mile race. Lopez ran a 12:34.50 which is nine seconds faster than her previous personal record.
“Her hard work and dedication is really starting to pay off. I am looking forward to seeing what she can do in the spring,” Head coach Bill Wallace said.
Sophomore Emma Greenleaf competed in the 55 hurdles and got a time of 10.21.
Caitlin Buonconti ran the 1000 meter in 3:37.89 which was her season’s best time to end the year on a high. Teammate, Lauren Mattia, ran the 600 meter and set a personal record of 1:48.84.
