To the editor:
Many of us would say, it is big businesses that run the country, and in a sense it does. Large donors who contribute to various government campaigns most likely donate for one reason or another.
Wealthy moguls meddling in politics can be caught up in negative sorts of behavior.
Sweetheart deals, that would benefit them, profits, taxes, just to name a few.
Considering the current President’s appointees who are responsible for heading important agencies, it begs the question, why so many of those chosen billionaires?
After a nationwide search, those must be the best and brightest.
Look at Elon Musk, he is not an appointee, he must be the sharpest tool in the shed.
We can go back in history to various Presidents and look at some extremely wealthy individuals who were Presidential appointees, not all were bad however, some were not so above board.
You can research back 80 years, but one who does stick out like a sore thumb is the Harding administration, list is long.
One of the wealthiest to serve in the Harding administration- financier Andrew Mellon, one of his heirs donated nine figures to elect President Trump. Roundup Elon’s, and the rest of the crew’s numbers, forget the donation basket! Anyone know how many Brinks trucks are available?
Considering some of the appointee’s net wealth, hum?
One might say it is the President’s choice, but I totally agree, he is the boss.
The bottom line, it may be Happy Days Again for shareholders.
However, as the old saying goes, nothing stays the same, better enjoy while it lasts.
Cocktail anyone?
