NAHANT — The Board of Selectmen gathered to discuss updates on the town’s mission to sell off the numerous lots of the Coast Guard Housing site.
During the meeting, the Board voted to authorize Town Administrator Tony Barletta to award and negotiate the sale of real property known as the 12 lots of Coast Guard Housing Property.
Chairman of the Board, Josh Antrim, elaborated on the matter, citing the different plots that are being prepared for sale in the future. He mentioned lot #2 at 296 Castle Road, lot #4 at 300 Castle Road, lot #5 at 114 Castle Road, lot #6 at 116 Gardner Road, lot #8 at 4 Goddard Drive, and lot #10 at 8 Goddard Drive.
Antrim continued, saying, “The town administrator is authorized to execute, on behalf of the Board of Selectmen, any and all purchase and sale agreements, affidavits, settlement statements, and other documents necessary to accomplish the sale of the forgoing lots.”
Barletta expanded upon the decision to move forward on the project. “We took a vote during our last offering, and essentially, what this allows me to do is be the signatory on these important documents that are time-sensitive, related to sale and purchasing,” he said.
“It’s an important vote that confirms my authority to sign documents,” Barletta added.
“Speaking for myself, it’s a pleasure to give you that authority,” Antrim said. “It’s good to hear we have continued good news in that process.”
Vice Chairman Gene Canty took a moment to thank Barletta for helping push the project toward the finish line.
