Property Check

Reports of property check at 1:22 a.m. and 9:18 p.m. Wednesday on Atlantic Avenue, 1:23 a.m. on West Shore Drive, 1:24 a.m. and 9:16 p.m. on Community Road, 9:58 p.m. on Lighthouse Lane, and 10:34 p.m. on Washington Street.

SAUGUS

Arrest

Daniel F. Matthews, of Josephine Avenue, was arrested at 8:39 p.m. Wednesday for charges of attempting to commit a crime and unarmed burglary. 

Assist Citizen

A report of citizen assistance at 6:12 p.m. Wednesday on Sherwood Forest Lane. Caller reported that his computer had been hacked, and he would like to speak to an officer about it. Caller received a threatening email, and he was advised to change all passwords and follow up if any further malicious action was taken. Services rendered. 

Break & Entry Attempt

A report of an attempt of break and entry at 8:39 p.m. Wednesday on Pincrest Avenue. Caller reported he believed someone was attempting to break into his home. Arrest 17 and over male. 

Larceny

A walk-in report of larceny at 12:13 p.m. Wednesday at Hooters on Broadway. A woman walked into the station to report larceny of her mobile phone from Hooters. Report taken. 

Motor Vehicles

A report of a motor vehicle accident at 3:49 p.m. Wednesday on Broadway. Caller reported a three-car motor vehicle accident involving a blue Chevy Avalanche, a 2005 Toyota Scion, and a 2021 silver Honda Ridgeline. Removed to hospital. 

A report of a motor vehicle stop at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday on Main Street. Verbal warning;  a report at 1:58 p.m. on Main Street. Citation warning; a report at 7:40 p.m. at Oaklandvale Elementary School on Main Street. Citation warning. 

A report of a suspicious motor vehicle at 1:04 a.m. Wednesday on Lewis O Gray Drive. Caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked in front of her home. It was a dark colored Sedan occupied by a male. Investigated.

Property Damage

A report of property damage at 12:23 p.m. Wednesday on Pevwell Drive. Caller reported a blue Audi sedan struck an electrical panel box and fled the scene. Officer was dispatched, but it did not appear to have any damage, and no vehicle was located. Investigated, nothing found. 

Shoplifting

A report of shoplifting at 11:59 a.m. Wednesday at Walmart on Broadway. Loss prevention advised officers that a shoplifting had occurred and the suspects had fled the location. Report taken; a report at 2:03 p.m. at Marshalls on Broadway. Report taken.    

Suspicious Activity

A report of suspicious activity at 4:09 a.m. Wednesday on Rice Street. The caller believed someone attempted to make entry into her home through the bathroom window. A man in all black was found walking in the area of Belmonte. The man does not appear to be involved; a report at 6:15 p.m. on Oaklandvale Avenue.  Caller reported a male in a high-visibility jacket going door to door. The man was offering roofing. He was advised of Town by-laws and left for the night.

Reports of area checks were filed at 12:21 a.m. Wednesday morning on Upper Jackson Park; 12:37 a.m. on Atlantic Avenue; 12:38 a.m. on Railroad Avenue; 12:57 a.m. on Ocean Avenue and Shepard Avenue; 1:04 a.m. on Crossman Avenue; 1:12 a.m. on Paradise Road; 2:31 a.m. on Burril Street; 3:20 a.m. on Forest Avenue; 4:23 p.m. on Atlantic Avenue; 4:30 p.m. on Burril Street; 5:15 p.m. on Doherty Circle; 5:20 p.m. on Shelton Road; 5:22 p.m. on Nichols Street; 6:08 p.m. on 6:06 p.m. on Duncan Terrace; 6:07 p.m. on Paradise Road; 6:41 p.m. on Upper Jackson Park.

Motor Vehicle Stop

Reports of a motor vehicle stop were filed at 6:33 a.m. Wednesday morning on Oakledge Road and Paradise Road; 1:12 p.m. on Burril Street; 5:30 p.m. on Paradise Road; 5:33 p.m. on Essex Street.

Traffic Enforcement Post

Reports of a traffic enforcement post were filed at 1:16 a.m. Wednesday morning on Danvers Road; 7:00 a.m. on Paradise Road and Walker Road; 12:56 p.m. on Burpee Road and Essex Street.

Unwanted Guests

Reports of an unwanted guest were filed at 1:39 a.m. Wednesday morning on Atlantic Avenue. A male caller reported his girlfriend came back to his residence after being told to leave, he requested an officer to help her vacate the house.
