GLSS names Pattyanne Lyons director of development

February 28, 2025 by Isaac Green

Lynn – Greater Lynn Senior Services (GLSS) has welcomed Pattyanne Lyons as its new director of development, bringing more than 25 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, and community engagement.

Lyons’ career began in higher education fundraising, but she transitioned to elder healthcare after caring for her parents and recognizing the challenges of aging in place. This personal experience led her to pursue a Master’s in Gerontology at UMASS Boston, where she deepened her understanding of Councils on Aging, Aging Services Access Points, and the needs of seniors living independently.

“When this position opened at GLSS, I knew it was a perfect match,” Lyons said. “I’m in awe of the staff and leadership here — their commitment to helping others is inspiring. I look forward to sharing their stories and raising awareness about the incredible services GLSS provides.”

GLSS serves Lynn, Lynnfield, Nahant, Saugus, Swampscott, and communities throughout the North Shore and Merrimack Valley. As the organization approaches its 50th anniversary in 2026, Lyons aims to build on its strong foundation of support. Each year, GLSS delivers over 225,000 Meals on Wheels, serves 1,400 people at the Phoenix Food Hub, and provides services to more than 8,000 homes across the region.

“Community outreach is critical to our work,” Lyons emphasized. “Our mission of serving and protecting seniors and people living with disabilities is something the entire community appreciates. Increased visibility will allow us to grow our fundraising efforts, expand our reach, and explore innovative programs.”

Lyons envisions engaging more donors, volunteers, and community partners to strengthen programs like Mobile Mental Health and Family Abuse Prevention. She is eager to meet with residents, listen to their stories, and rally support to ensure that seniors and people with disabilities can continue to live safely and independently.
