To the editor:
Cynthia Tschampl’s recent letter deploring the destruction of USAID and the cost in lives demands action (“Drastic USAID cuts put lives at risk,” Itemlive.com, Feb. 28). Even though the Supreme Court has ruled that the $2 billion for work already completed must be paid, it does not reverse the destruction of USAID programs.
So, Ms Tschampl’s recommended action — to contact our congressional representatives at 202-224-3121 — remains critical. When we speak up, our representatives will listen, especially if we do not stop speaking up.
