To the editor:
Anyone paying attention to the budget process in Swampscott knows how hard navigating the next couple of years is going to be. Balancing the funding of things we often take for granted (schools, flood defenses, and sewers) against targeted investments to grow the Town’s revenue base. This can’t continue to be a “zero-sum game” of political theater; it’s going to require both rich and poor Swampscotters to work together, and that’s going to require leaders who do the work, respectfully engage, listen and respond to every resident’s concerns.
I’ll be voting MaryEllen Fletcher for Select Board.
She’s got the experience, loves the town and treats people with respect.
