LYNN

Arrests

Brooke Avelar, 62, of Nahant Street, was arrested at 3:03 a.m. Sunday on multiple warrants, including charges of motor vehicle larceny, receiving stolen property over $1,200, larceny under $1,200, unlawful possession of ammunition without an FID card, improper firearm storage, and defacing a firearm serial number.

Belsar Simon, 42, of Bennett Circle, was arrested at 3:10 a.m. Sunday on charges of operating under the influence of liquor, marked lanes violation, lights violation, and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Zaylee Santana, 22, of Chestnut Street, was arrested at 8:27 p.m. Sunday on charges of operating under the influence of liquor, operating under the influence of drugs, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Rayssa Goncalves, 30, of Danforth Avenue, Saugus, was arrested at 9:03 p.m. Sunday on a charge of receiving a stolen motor vehicle.

Reports of motor vehicle stops at 2:09 a.m. Sunday on the Causeway, 5:17 p.m. on Nahant Road and Castle Road, 5:30 p.m. on Nahant Road and Castle Road, 6:01 p.m. on Nahant Road and Castle Road, 7:37 p.m. on Nahant Road and Castle Road, 7:50 p.m. on the Causeway, 8:21 p.m. on the Causeway.

PEABODY

Summons

Rodiney Joaquim Da Silva Martins, 24, of Keys Drive, will be summoned for unlicensed operation of motor vehicle and speeding rate of speed exceeding posted limit at 1:13 a.m. on Lowell Street.

Animal Control

A report of a neighbor whose dogs have been left alone since 3/14/25 and are barking at 8:43 a.m. on Andover Drive. The officer made several attempts to get into contact with the resident, unable to reach at this time; A report of a neighbor who has not been home in several days and dogs are barking at 2:43 p.m. on Andover Drive. Officer knocked on the door, no answer at the time, officer reached the owner via cellphone, says the dogs are being well taken care of.

Disturbances

A report of unwanted parties with a possible fight in the area at 12:58 a.m. on Main Street. Officer reports parties peacefully departed; A report of loud music and yelling at 1:09 a.m. on Foster Street. Residents said they will turn off music for the night; A report of loud music being played at the carwash at 2:59 p.m. on Newbury Street. Officer reports the party was told to shut the music off.

Motor Vehicles

A report of a motor vehicle that is unoccupied but running at 1:47 a.m. in Lowell Street. Officer located owner, he was the security for the business nearby; A report of verbal warning for speed at 1:57 a.m. on Main Street; A report of a car alarm setting off, parked in handicap space at 4:10 a.m. on Keys Drive. The reporting party made contact with the owner, all is in order; A report of a motor vehicle accident at 10:20 a.m. on Goodale Street. No injuries or tows at the time; A report of a motor vehicle accident with two cars, one injury at 1:22 p.m. on Hotel Avenue; A report of a loud dirtbike going up and down street at 1:29 p.m. on Lynnfield Street. Officer reports he already spoke to that party, told him to put it away; A report of a motor vehicle accident at 3:59 p.m. on Washington Street; A report of a truck that has been sitting for a couple of weeks with a rejected sticker and possibly leaking fluids at 9:35 p.m. on Foster Street. Vehicle was towed.

Suspicious Activity

A report of a male party walking down road with ski mask on heading towards Franklin Street at 3:43 p.m. on Foster Street. Officer unable to locate.

Threats

A report of threats by a female playing bingo at 4:10 p.m. on Main Street. Officer reports the party was asked to leave by staff.

SAUGUS

Alarms

A report of a burglar alarm at 5:20 a.m. Sunday at Polcari’s Restaurant on Broadway. Investigated; a report at 6:19 p.m. at ASA Jeweler on Broadway. Building appears to be secure. 

Assault/A & B

A report of an assault/a & b at 1:57 p.m. Sunday at Custom T’s on Broadway. Caller reported a shoplifter who assaulted an employee. Report taken.

Disturbance

A report of a disturbance at 5:22 p.m. Sunday at Alltown Convenience on Broadway. Caller reported they were having an issue involving the clerk and the pump at the Alltown gas station. Peace restored. 

Found Property

A report of found property at 1:37 p.m. Sunday on Walnut Street. Caller reported finding a wallet. Officer returned wallet to owner. Services rendered. 

Hazardous Road Conditions

A report of a hazardous road condition at 2:41 p.m. Sunday at Broadway Places LLC. on Broadway. Caller reported a bag of trash on the highway. MassDOT notified; a report at 10:36 p.m. on Essex Street at Stevens Place. Melrose police reported a gate at Stevens Place and Essex Street was swinging into the street. Services rendered.  

Motor Vehicle

A report of a motor vehicle accident at 8:50 a.m. Sunday on the Salem Turnpike southbound. Callers reported a single-vehicle accident. Report taken.

Noise Complaint

A report of a noise complaint at 6:10 p.m. Sunday on Lincoln Avenue. Caller reported music so loud from the house behind her that it was affecting the customers in her business. Peace restored. 

Property Damage

A report of property damage at 3:48 p.m. Sunday at Jimmy’s Steer House on Broadway. Caller reported his vehicle was damaged while parked in the lot. Officer reported minor damage caused to the door. Report taken. 

Shoplifting

A report of shoplifting at 5:49 p.m. Sunday at Walmart on Broadway. Caller reported a possible shoplifter at Walmart that was leaving the area in a Blue Kia. Officer reported no items were taken. Report taken; a report at 7:42 p.m. at Walmart on Broadway. Caller reported Walmart loss prevention was trying to stop her and she stated she did not steal anything. Investigated. 

Suspicious Person

A report of a suspicious person at 2:50 p.m. Sunday at LA Fitness on Broadway. Malden PD reported a female in a wheelchair in the middle of the road. Officers reported no female in the roadway. Services rendered.

Unwanted Parties

A report of an unwanted party at 10:36 a.m. Sunday at Dunkin’ on Lincoln Avenue. Caller reported a male and female sitting inside the location and refusing to leave. Caller was the manager of the Dunkin’. Services rendered; a report at 10:04 p.m. on Denver Street. A woman called requesting assistance because she believed her ex-boyfriend was knocking on her door. Investigated, nothing found; a report at 11:09 p.m. at the Red Roof Inn on Broadway. A woman called to report a party in the front lobby. Peace restored.

Prowler

Reports of a prowler at 5:33 a.m. on Humphrey Street. The caller reported a male with a thin build and dark hair at approximately 40 years of age, carrying a large yellow gas can, where he asked the caller if they had any gas. Caller noted the man walked down Phillips Terrace.
