LTTE: Elworthy and Sheehan for School Committee

To the editor

March 19, 2025 by To the editor

To the editor:

On April 2024, the people of Lynnfield elected Jenny Sheehan and Kristen Elworthy to the School Committee. Together Kristen and Jenny have taken steps that have dramatically improved the teaching and learning experience in our schools. Kristen Elworthy, since taking over as chair, has been an effective leader who has turned the focus of meetings toward students’ success.

Jenny Sheehan has spearheaded policy changes that have resulted in positive impacts for students and staff. Because of their work, school culture is now returning to the high standards traditionally held in Lynnfield. They have also supported best practice initiatives, where teachers are involved in curriculum development, and administrators understand that student achievement is our highest priority.

I’ve taught science at the high school and middle school levels for over thirty years and served as a middle school principal in a nearby high-achieving district. I have seen how school committees can impact schools. Kristen Elworthy and Jenny Sheehan are dedicated and talented leaders who make a positive difference for our students. We are fortunate to have them.  I am asking you to please vote for Kristen Elworthy and Jenny Sheehan for School Committee on April 8 so we can continue to focus on excellence in our schools.
