BOSTON — Radio host, actor, and voice impressionist Gary Leavitt performed as iconic Hollywood actor Sean Connery in “Nightmare With Casey Sherman” at the Wilbur Theatre in Boston on Wednesday night.
Leavitt, of Peabody, who hosts a weekly talk show on 95.9 WATD, was chosen for the role because of his uncanny voice impersonation of James Bond 007.
In his role, Leavitt as Connery described a head-to-head confrontation with Lana Turner’s boyfriend, notorious gangster Johnny Stompanato, played by Peabody’s Arthur Hiou.
Leavitt received rousing applause upon completion of his monologue. The show also featured performances by John Fiore of “The Sopranos,” comedian Steve Sweeney, and local radio and TV sports personality Gary Tanguay.
Listeners can catch Leavitt on his weekly show, “Gary Leavitt and Friends,” on 95.9 WATD or stream online at 959watd.com.
