LTTE: Re-elect Kristen Grieco Elworthy

To the editor

March 31, 2025 by To the editor

To the editor:

I’m writing to urge my fellow Lynnfield residents to re-elect Kristen Grieco Elworthy to the School Committee on April 8. As a resident/parent/community member, I’ve seen the positive impact of her leadership, and I believe she’s essential to keeping Lynnfield Public Schools (LPS) on its upward trajectory.

Strong, consistent leadership is critical to improving the culture for teachers in our district and rebuilding trust, a priority Grieco Elworthy has championed tirelessly. LPS is in a better place today than at the end of 2023, thanks to the hard work of the leadership team and school committee, with Grieco Elworthy playing a pivotal role. She runs the committee professionally, with respect for district leadership and educators, keeping the focus where it belongs: setting policy, overseeing our budget, evaluating our superintendent, and driving academic achievement.

Grieco Elworthy’s achievements speak for themselves. She spearheaded a public midyear progress report for Superintendent Geary, hosted school and community coffees to open new lines of communication for staff, parents, and residents, and built collaborative relationships across town government to advocate for our district’s needs. Her leadership delivered an updated cell phone policy and dress code — changes that have directly improved teaching and learning in our schools.

With her experience on the Finance Committee and as a business owner, Grieco Elworthy helped drive this year’s budget process and brought her expertise to collective bargaining with the Lynnfield Teachers Association. As an independent voice, she collaborates with the town and stakeholders to build consensus wherever possible, ensuring decisions benefit our students and community.

On April 8, let’s re-elect Kristen Grieco Elworthy. She’s not just a proven leader — she’s the steady hand we need to keep LPS moving forward.

Sincerely,

Paloma & Alex Shaner

Lynnfield
