LTTE: We’ve seen Katie Phelan lead firsthand

To the editor

April 2, 2025 by To the editor

To the editor:

We knew Katie Phelan first as a dedicated leader in our parent community at Hadley Elementary School – and we’ve been thrilled and grateful to see her bring the same dedication and community focus to her work on the Select Board the past three years.

Working with Katie on the Hadley PTO Executive Committee for years gave us each the opportunity to appreciate her resourcefulness and her commitment to building community at every level. Katie always made time – to support families and teachers, to build new programs, and to foster a sense of belonging. On the Select Board, she has consistently supported activities and infrastructure in Town to connect us all to our neighbors and to our beautiful town: envisioning a community life center, supporting our awesome recreation program, and advocating for the new LED movie screen that has already helped create lasting memories for families, of movies on the beach and twilight shows on Town Hall Lawn. She’s practical and solution-oriented; as water quality issues threatened programs at Fishermans Beach last summer, Katie helped ensure a quick pivot to keep these valuable programs running and to keep our kids and families safe. Katie makes time – to show up for town events and farmers markets, to talk to residents, and to hear their concerns and ideas.

We appreciate Katie’s leadership and community-centered logic, and hope you will join us in voting for Katie Phelan for re-election to the Select Board on April 29.

Sincerely,

The Hadley Elementary School PTO Executive Board 2022 – 2024
