To the editor:
We often joke that we’re still “newcomers” to Lynnfield, having moved here in the early 2010s. But through our volunteer work for the town and Lynnfield Public Schools, we hope many of you consider us friends.
As we thought about how best to express our support for Kim Baker Donahue and her candidacy for School Committee, we realized her qualifications and campaign pillars (detailed at kimforlynnfield.com) speak for themselves. So, we’ll keep it simple:
We encourage you to vote for Kim Baker Donahue on April 8.
Here’s why:
A vote for Kim is a vote for:
- Commitment to discourse and perspective-taking — even in disagreement.
- Genuine advocacy for the interests of ALL residents and LPS families.
- Data-driven decision-making that prioritizes process over politics.
- Reevaluating School Committee procedures — meeting times, communication tools, and agendas — to better and more authentically engage stakeholders.
- Proactive and fiscally-responsible planning that addresses immediate district needs while anticipating long-term priorities.
If you’d like to learn more, join Kim for a Meet and Greet on April 3 from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Lynnfield Meeting House.
As you consider your vote on Election Day, we encourage you to support the School Committee candidate who brings an independent and authentic voice, extensive relevant professional and philanthropic experience, and a willingness to engage in the hard conversations. Please join us in casting your vote for Kim Baker Donahue for School Committee on April 8.
Sincerely,
Lindsay Weiss & Kathryn Price
