LYNN — The annual Mullins Memorial Baseball Tournament, featuring four local high schools, will be held on May 23-24 at Fraser Field in Lynn. It’s the fourth year of the tournament and to date, $12,000 in scholarships have been distributed to local student-athletes. There will be a kickoff fundraiser this Saturday at Tony’s Pub and Grill from 1-5 p.m.
The Mullins Memorial Baseball Tournament is a two-day event held annually across Memorial Day weekend, and features the varsity baseball teams from Lynn English, Lynn Classical, Swampscott, and St. Mary’s. The tournament was established in 2022 to honor former Lynn English Coach Doug Mullins, who worked with local high school baseball players for many years and made a positive impact on the lives of student-athletes. In October of 2020, he sadly lost a courageous battle to osteosarcoma at age 34. The tournament carries on the work of Coach Mullins by providing a two-day competition and scholarship to a member of each team.
