Lynn’s co-op lacrosse team (1-3) took down Revere, 12-5, on enemy turf Thursday. Call it a bounce-back win after Tuesday’s heartbreaking, triple-overtime loss to Malden.
Ian Brown did his thing with five goals and three assists, followed by Meagan Baker (2 goals), Jacoby Comeau (goal, 2 assists), Jordan Em (2 goals), Denim Dembro (2 goals), Jahir Maldonado (assist), and Julius Serino (2 assists).
The Jets return to action Tuesday against St. Mary’s. First face-off is slated for 7 p.m.

Behind Owen Considine’s six-goal performance, Lynnfield took down Ipswich in a closely-contested showdown. Paul Daley (2 goals), Kelan Cardinal (2 assists), and Owen Doherty also found the back of the net, while netminder Ben Pimentel saved 13 shots.

Classical (3-0) stayed hot and took down Medford on its own diamond. Braeden Ohannesian (6 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, K) picked up the win, while Mark Walsh closed things out in the seventh inning. Walsh, Christian Figueroa, and Emerson Lara recorded RBI for the Rams, who visit Malden Monday with first pitch set for 4:15 p.m.

With two errors and a lone hit coming from Elian Peña, English dug itself in a hole and allowed seven runs in the fourth inning. Somerville tacked on five more in the seventh inning.

Finishing last week’s suspended game, Swampscott (2-2) returned to .500 with an eight-inning win against Saugus. Chase Groothuis of the Big Blue picked up the win, stranding base runners on first and second base with a ground out to second baseman Nat Mahler to end the game.
Swampscott’s Michael Collins led off with a late single. From there, Cooper Correnti sacrificed pinch runner Paul Calsimitto to second base. Calsimitto moved to third on an infield ground ball and scored on an RBI single by Adam Sparacio.

Taking on a Mystic Valley squad with quick, deep pitching, Lynn Tech/KIPP “hung in there,” according to Coach Beth Mercaldi. Her team was led by pitcher Genevieve McCafferty with multiple strikeouts, while catcher Camila Rufino Santos played strong defense.
“Overall, our entire defense made good contributions,” said Mercaldi, whose team fell to 0-2.

In a “tough one for the Pioneers,” according to Coach Hector Longo, Lynnfield (1-1) had no answer for the Hawks. The Pioneers committed six errors and connected on just five hits. Morgan Hubbard and Angelina O’Hara blasted two-run homers to highlight the offense.

In set scores of 12-25, 19-25, 25-20, and 23-25, Tech met its match in Greater Lawrence and fell to 4-2 this spring. Leading the Tigers were Elmer Duran (29 assists, 2 aces), Didlaire Jacques Jr. (12 kills, 8 digs, 4 blocks), Anthoni Diaz (13 kills, 3 digs, 2 blocks), Jayden Tran (7 digs, 3 kills), and Cristhian Penaloza (7 digs).
TRACK AND FIELD
Lynn Tech’s boys team (2-0) defeated Nashoba Tech, 92-44, with Kevin Smart (400m hurdles, 100m hurdles) and Francis Ucheighie (high jump, long jump) winning two events apiece. Other winners were Liban Abdikadir (2-mile), Franklyn Maldonado (mile), Christian Nunez (400m), Liam Carmody (800m), Van Petit-Frere (discus), and Jarad Denis (shot put).
The 4×400 relay team of Nunez, Carmondy, Sam Mesidor, and Awan Awan took care of business, as did the 4×100 group of Armani Arzola, Jacob Garcia, Colin McGougg, and Dereon Phipps.
On the girls’ side, a 98-38 win, Tech received first-place finishes from Kassandra Peña (400m), Jireilis De Jesus (100m hurdles), Estrella Presinal (800m), Briana Anderson (mile), and Jasmine Morales (javelin, discus). The 4×100 and 4×400 relay teams qualified for the state vocational championship.
