You know what I’ve been thinking? With three dominant games across a seven-day stretch, I truly don’t know which performance was her best.
Marblehead softball ace – and elite hitter – Tessa Francis has been putting on clinics. Better yet, her Magicians have won their last three games against Ipswich (14-0), Swampscott (4-1), and Peabody (7-4).
It all started against Ipswich. Do-it-all Francis was 2-for-4 with a two-run triple and two-run homer.
Oh, and by the way, she threw a perfect game and struck out 10 batters. Coach Johnny Gold believes it’s the first perfect game in the history of the program.
A few days later against traditional archrival Swampscott, Francis compiled 16 strikeouts.
“Tessa threw an incredible game,” Gold said.
Wrapping up Francis’ week was a dominant plate performance against Peabody. She hit a home run and went home with three RBI.
Next up for Marblehead is Monday’s road game against Malden Catholic with first pitch slated for 4 p.m.
Tessa, good week.
