Good teams start fast, and Swampscott’s softball team did just that en route to an 8-6 win against visiting Lynn Classical Tuesday.
The Big Blue built a five-run lead through one inning, but Classical responded and knotted the game in the sixth after Nevaeh Eth (3-for-4, 3 RBI) hit a two-out, two-run homer over the left-field fence.
From there, Swampscott closed strong with two runs in the sixth. The team was led by Mia Tringale (3 H), Hayden Haskell in relief, and Lauren Fahey (2 H, 3 RBI). Classical was guided by Brooke Braswell (3-for-4, R, RBI), Emma Chevalier (2-for-3, 3 R), and Kelsey Sinapius (RBI).
“I loved the way we competed after being in an early hole to a good Swampscott team,” said Classical Coach Joe Morin.

With Tech Coach Eddie Lewis admitting his team is going through “some growing pains,” the Tigers allowed 14 runs, despite showing flashes of offensive potential.
“We’re in these games and playing hard, but we’re just coming up short,” Lewis said. “It’s been a rough go to start, but we’re still chasing that signature win… I have a lot of faith in this team.”
Lewis added his captains – Eddie Lewis Jr., Christopher Boyd, Colin Newhall, and Dylan Nordyke – are “doing an excellent job leading the team this season.” He also gave props to Jendol Diaz and young freshmen Jaeran Quinones, Richard Naugle, and Albert Collado, all of whom are showing “lots of promise.”

Junior Harris Hadzihasanovic was the man of the hour for the host Pioneers, tossing a no-hitter in a five-inning mercy rule contest. He struck out four and walked four.
Dylan Nguyen (2 RBI, double, 3 R, 3 SB) and Tyler Adamo (double, 2 RBI) had big days at the plate, each going 2-for-3. Luke DiSilvio (1-for-2, 2 R, RBI, SB), Walter Radulski (RBI, R), and Charlie Morgan (RBI, R, SB) also had hits.
“Harris also pitched a great game and the kids played very well behind him,” said Lynnfield Coach John O’Brien. “Tyler had a great game at short. Luke played great at third and Dylan did a nice job at second base, and the kids made the most of what they got at the plate and ran the bases well.”
The Pioneers are back in action Thursday at Hamilton-Wenham with first pitch set for 4 p.m.
“It will be a tough game,” O’Brien said. “Hopefully, we’ll be ready to play.”

The Pioneers scored seven goals on home turf, but it wasn’t enough to take down Cape Ann League foe Manchester-Essex. Lynnfield’s Paul Daley and Owen Doherty each slotted a pair of goals, while John Powers, Owen Considine, and Kelan Cardinal rounded out the goal-scoring. Cardinal (4 assists) and Mike Murphy dished out helpers, Powers controlled two loose balls, and netminder Ben Pimentel saved a dozen shots.
