Team of the Week – Bishop Fenwick girls lacrosse

Joey Barrett

April 15, 2025 by Joey Barrett

You know what I’ve been thinking? Bishop Fenwick Coach Jill Robinson has her girls lacrosse team cooking up something strong.

Actually, that something is a 7-1 start.

With weekly wins against Bishop Feehan (6-4), St. Mary’s (8-5), Georgetown (17-4), and Malden Catholic (10-6), the Lady Crusaders are right atop state championship conversations, if you’re asking me.

Fenwick’s only loss came against Swampscott by one goal – a low-scoring, 5-4 nail-biter. The Big Blue are 6-0, by the way, so there’s no shame in that one.

Against Feehan, Breanna Genzale ripped four goals and Hannah Bettencourt dished out two assists. Courtney McKenzie made nine saves, while Robinson applauded the defensive efforts of Meghan Eastman, Olivia Watson, and Cori McMenima.

Oh, and it’s a good thing fans don’t throw their hats on the field in high school lacrosse. Molly Sullivan and Bettencourt netted hat-tricks against St. Mary’s, while Sullivan and Kiley Bloom did so against Malden Catholic.

Overall, this season, the Lady Crusaders have outscored opponents, 78-34.

More than double. Not bad…

Next up for Fenwick is Wednesday’s road game against Cardinal Spellman beginning at 3:30 p.m.

Lady Crusaders, good week.
