Nearly 150 locals in the running in Boston

BOSTON — One day. One race. Thousands of lives changed.

The 129th Boston Marathon, taking place on the 250th anniversary of Patriots’ Day, kicks off Monday as the City of Boston celebrates another year of miles and memories.

Nearly 150 runners from Lynn (9), Swampscott (14), Saugus (15), Peabody (17), Lynnfield (9), Marblehead (28), Beverly (25), Winthrop (14), Revere (13), and Nahant (4) are set to compete.

Last year, some local standouts were Marblehead’s Rex Radloff (2:34:37), Swampscott’s Ryan Graf (2:49:55), Lynn’s Scott McLean (2:50:45), Swampscott’s Carl Dooley (03:03:15), Swampscott’s Trevor Henry (3:10:19), Swampscott’s Colin Smith (3:06:28), Saugus’ Christopher Chapruet (3:00:22), Marblehead’s Daniel Donato (2:53:17), Marblehead’s Patrick Hogan (2:54:50), and Marblehead’s Kyle Taylor (03:02:52).

Radloff, Graf, Henry, Smith, Chapruet, and McLean are racing Monday.

Other returners from last year are Swampscott’s Jacob Nazarenko (3:52:08), Saugus’ Bob Catinazzo (5:34:34), Saugus’ Robert Favuzza (4:40:54), Saugus’ Casey Hyde (3:21:25), Saugus’ Gina Spaziani (6:02:13), Peabody’s Kathleen Cliffe (4:02:53), Peabody’s Cole Cuzzi (5:36:14), Peabody’s Ryan Penney (3:48:46), Lynnfield’s Kristan Murphy (5:23:54), Lynnfield’s Kip Sanford (4:15:14), Marblehead’s Tyler Callahan (3:46:06), Marblehead’s Matthew Duca (4:47:15), Marblehead’s Ross Patterson (3:14:05), Marblehead’s Sally Reiley (4:16:19), Marblehead’s Jennifer Sheridan (4:55:43), Marblehead’s Tim Sullivan (4:35:28), and Marblehead’s Bethany Zanrucha (3:15:59).

Among Monday’s local entries, the youngest runner is Winthrop’s Shannon Abbott (18), while Winthrop’s Paul Caruccio (70) is the oldest.
